Gillani HVAC Heating & Cooling
Gas Line Installation

Services Include
1. Gas Line Requirements
• Gas Type: Determine if you’re using natural gas (NG) or propane (LP). Some appliances are built for one type, while others require a conversion kit.
• Gas Pressure & BTU Rating: Each appliance has a specific BTU (British Thermal Unit) demand. Ensure your gas supply can handle the total demand if running multiple appliances.
• Pipe Sizing: Common materials include black iron, corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST), or copper (where allowed by local code). Size the pipe correctly to prevent pressure drops.
• Regulator & Shutoff Valve: Each appliance should have its own shutoff valve, and propane systems typically require a regulator at the tank.
2. Permits & Codes
• Permits Required: Most jurisdictions require a gas permit for new installations. Check with your local building authority.
• Professional Installation: In many places, only licensed gas fitters can install or modify gas lines.
• Clearances & Venting: Follow local codes for minimum clearance distances (especially for fire pits and pool heaters) and proper venting (for indoor appliances).
3. Safety Tips
• Gas Leak Test: Always test connections using a soap and water solution—bubbles indicate a leak. Never use an open flame.
• Carbon Monoxide Detectors: Install detectors near indoor gas appliances.
• Ventilation: Ensure proper airflow for stoves, heaters, and generators to prevent carbon monoxide buildup.
• Proper Shutdown: For seasonal appliances (e.g., pool heaters), shut off the gas supply and winterize components.
4. Appliance-Specific Considerations
• BBQ: If using a natural gas BBQ, install a quick-connect fitting for easy removal. Keep at least 10 feet from structures for safety.
• Pool Heater: Install on a level, non-combustible surface with adequate ventilation. Follow manufacturer recommendations for clearance from walls and vegetation.
• Gas Stove: Requires a dedicated gas line and proper ventilation. Ensure the anti-tip bracket is installed for safety.
• Outdoor Fire Pit: Recommended to be at least 10 feet away from buildings or combustible materials. Use lava rocks or fire glass instead of regular stones, which can explode under heat.
• Generator: Needs a dedicated gas line, proper ventilation (exhaust must be directed away from the house), and should be placed a safe distance from windows and doors.

"Gillani is a family run business, I called them to replace my gas furnace after it failed, they had the best prices over two other known 'big' HVAC national companies and were able to come same day. He and his son were professional, efficient yet took the time to make sure the job was done right and to my satisfaction. Thank you both!!!"

"Iqbal and his son came to replace my hot water tank. There were several issues with the previous installation not being up to code which resulted in them having to spend many extra hours to fix the issue. There was no extra charge for the added hours. They were professional a knowledgeable. I will use them again to install a gas line in the future."

"I hired Gillani Heating and Appliance Care to install a natural gas line for our BBQ (March 2023). The install ran through our basement wall to our patio, up our brick wall, across and down (about twenty five feet) to where our BBQ is positioned. The install went great. Iqbal and his son are professional, courteous and arrived on time as promised. I had noticed a slight adjustment required after they left and they promptly returned to remedy it. I would hire them again."

Great experience. Mr Gillani came out and provided a quote on a new hot water tank installation. We accepted his offer to supply and install a John Wood hot water tank. He completed the installation efficiently and professionally. There were no surprises or extras added to the final invoice. Very honest family business. Will certainly use his services again and will definitely recommend him to others. Thanks."
"Recently had our natural gas line brought to our backyard. Iqbal provides a fair quote and different options to get the job done. The work was completed quickly and properly and without any surprises! Highly recommend this family company for any heating projects. Thanks Iqbal!"
